The Las Vegas Koen is confirmed. October 7th-9th, 2005. No venue announced yet. anyone willing to bet? My guess-MGM Grand.

Kitanoumi Rjicho said today that if KaioU wins 13, it should be enough for a Yokozuna promotion, regardless of a Yusho. He said that explicitly in an answer to a direct question by journalists. Of course, this has to "sit" with the YDC first, but a Rijicho openly saying this may pave the way.

Musouyama will receive 32,000,000 yen ($310,000) as retirement (merit) money, it was decided today. There will be no pay raise for rikishi or elders for the fourth straight year, it was obviously decided as well.

Kazafuzan, the Sandanme rikishi from Kazakhstan, went kyujo today. Does anyone have details? -
